Warner Bros. Appoints Former Bethesda Studio Director to Helm WB Games Montreal
Warner Bros. has appointed Yves Lachance as the new leader of its Montreal-based game development studio, naming him vice president and studio head. In this capacity, Lachance will oversee all aspects of studio management and collaborate closely with Warner's publishing teams and other internal studios, reporting directly to Ben Bell, senior vice president for production and studios at WB Games. Lachance brings over eight years of experience from Bethesda Game Studios Montreal, where he played a key role in the studio's launch in 2015. Prior to that, he spent nearly a decade at Behaviour Interactive, holding various leadership positions. Lachance expressed his enthusiasm for joining Warner Bros. Games, citing the company's renowned franchises and in-house development expertise as a solid foundation for creating the next generation of games. He looks forward to working with the established Montreal team to develop memorable gaming experiences based on some of the most influential entertainment properties of the current generation. WB Games Montreal's latest release was the 2022 game Gotham Knights, and current job listings indicate that the studio is working on a new AAA single-player game based on a DC Comics series, utilizing Unreal Engine 5.
