Dotplay Secures $1 Million Investment
Dotplay, a web-based mobile distribution platform, has successfully raised $1 million in its pre-seed funding round, led by Transcend Fund. The investment will be allocated towards further developing the platform and expanding the team of skilled developers and engineers. Co-founded in March 2024 by CEO Iskander Pataudi, formerly the director of core product at AppLovin's Lion Studios, and CTO Bartosz Alksnin, previously the lead developer at King, Dotplay aims to offer developers a viable alternative to traditional app stores. By providing the necessary tools, the platform enables developers to convert their apps into cross-device mobile web games, promoting a more accessible and cost-effective gaming experience. "We are confident that the mobile web has the potential to rival app stores in terms of distribution," said Pataudi. "As off-store monetization and distribution continue to gain momentum across all formats, we are poised to take the lead in this shift. "Our innovative technology allows us to transform apps that are dependent on stores into instantly playable, cross-device mobile web games, making mobile gaming more accessible to players and reducing costs for developers."
