Look North World Secures $4.5 Million in Funding

Look North World, a developer and publisher, has successfully raised an additional $2.25 million in funding, bringing its total to $4.5 million. The investment round was led by London Venture Partners, with key contributions from Bandai Namco Entertainment 021 Fund, Overwolf, Crush Ventures, Hasbro, Pix Capital, and Hibbard Road Partners. The funding will be utilized to drive the development of original titles - with 15 currently in the pipeline - and to explore innovative methods of game development using user-generated content. Having already developed and published five games on Unreal Engine for Fortnite, Look North World has also launched its creator label. This initiative offers creators comprehensive support, including artistic and technical assistance, marketing resources, and long-term ownership of their intellectual property. Notable creators such as Austin 'TomJank' Rodriguez and Jon 'SightedSloth' Jungemann have joined the program. According to Matt Bilbey of London Venture Partners, 'Our investment in Look North World reinforces our confidence in user-generated content as a fundamental aspect of the gaming industry's future.' Yoyo Yang, principal of Bandai Namco Entertainment o21 Fund, added, 'Look North World is an exceptional partner, boasting a strong foundation in game development and a visionary approach to catering to the new generation of gamers.' The company was founded last year by industry veterans Alex Seropian, Jay Pecho, Patrick Moran, Kyle Marks, Aaron Marroquin, and Prashant Patil, who have previously worked at EA, Bungie, and Kongreate.
