Addressing the Skills Shortage at the GamesIndustry.biz HR Summit

The lineup of speakers for the GamesIndustry.biz HR Summit this September has been expanded, featuring discussions on the skills shortage and nurturing young talent. Scheduled to take place on September 18 at the Royal Institution in London, tickets for the event can be purchased here. Gina Jackson, founder of Skillfull, will provide an update on her report on the skills crisis during the event. Phil Atkinson from NextGen Skills will explore apprenticeship opportunities in a breakout session. Additionally, Scott Baxter, operations director at Wardog Studios, will cover the topic of training in a rapidly changing skills landscape. The conversation about skills development is just one aspect of the broader discussion at the HR Summit, which will also delve into team morale, leadership during uncertainty, AI, neurodiversity, hybrid work models, and mental health. The event will conclude with the 2024 Best Places To Work Awards, with tickets available here. Last year's event at BAFTA sold out completely.
