Acclaimed game artist Brett Jones, renowned for his contributions to GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, has passed away. Doak praised Jones, stating that his exceptional talent and unique sense of humor were instrumental in making GoldenEye and Perfect Dark truly special. Jones' career at Rare spanned eight years, during which he held various roles including lead artist, motion capture manager, animator, and concept artist. His creative imprint is evident throughout GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, where he was responsible for designing and modeling characters, conceptualizing designs, and animating scenes. Following his departure from Rare in 2002, Jones ventured into visual effects and animation, collaborating with notable production companies such as the BBC, where he worked on esteemed shows like Doctor Who and Being Human. Additionally, he lent his expertise to prominent film projects, including Guardians of the Galaxy and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, where he focused on character rigging.
