EA Sports FC 25 Introduces New Premium Tier for Enhanced In-Game Rewards

Electronic Arts has unveiled a new level of monetization for its EA Sports FC 25 game, introducing a Premium Tier of in-game rewards that can be purchased with either real money or the game's virtual currency. This optional tier complements the existing free tier of rewards, which players can unlock by completing in-game challenges. Once a certain reward level is reached, players have the option to access the Premium Tier for additional exclusive rewards. Although pricing details for this tier have not been disclosed, EA has confirmed that players can use either Ultimate Team coins, earned through gameplay, or FC Points, bought with real money, to unlock it. According to Richard Waltz, Ultimate Team design director, all items available in the paid tier can also be earned through the free tier, ensuring that players are not forced into purchases to access specific content. EA Sports FC 25 is set to launch on September 27 for PC and consoles, amidst ongoing discussions about the company's monetization strategies for its football titles, which have been a subject of scrutiny and legal disputes in various markets regarding the use of randomized card packs and their potential violation of gambling laws.
