Koei Tecmo Resolves Copyright Dispute with Youzu Through Out-of-Court Settlement
Koei Tecmo has successfully resolved its intellectual property dispute with Youzu. The company announced that it has reached a settlement with Youzu, who acknowledged and apologized for infringing on Koei Tecmo's rights to Nobunaga's Ambition and Taiko Risshiden. Youzu allegedly used Koei Tecmo's music and images in its mobile games, including Sengoku Legend: Uprising, Infinity Kingdom, and Dynasty Origins, without obtaining permission. This unauthorized use led to potential confusion among users and partners, prompting Koei Tecmo to take legal action. Despite initial attempts to resolve the issue amicably, the infringement continued, leading to a court case. Youzu has since admitted to the infringement, apologized, and agreed to prevent future violations. Koei Tecmo has accepted the settlement, deeming it in line with the company's policy on protecting intellectual property rights.
