Gaming Website The Loadout Closes Down
The UK-based gaming platform The Loadout has ceased operations. Despite the lack of a public statement from parent company Network N Media, former deputy editor Jamie Hore recently confirmed that July 8 marked the team's final day of working on the site. In a statement, Hore expressed his gratitude for being part of the site since its inception and having the opportunity to bid farewell on its last day. "Although the past few months have been incredibly challenging, I'd rather focus on the valuable lessons learned, the talented individuals I've worked with, and the great experiences I've had, rather than dwelling on the negative," Hore said. The Loadout was founded in October 2019 as Network N's second proprietary brand, following PC Games N. Initially focused on esports, the site expanded to cover console games and, at its peak, employed eight full-time staff members. The site's closure affects four permanent staff members, although several key team members were laid off at the end of 2023, including the guides team. Earlier this month, approximately one-third of the staff at Network N's video games marketing agency, Project N, also faced layoffs.
