Sony Music, Aniplex, and Pocketpair Launch Palworld Entertainment Venture

A new joint venture, Palworld Entertainment, has been established by Sony Music Entertainment, Aniplex, and Pocketpair, the developer behind Palworld. This partnership was announced via social media, highlighting the joint venture's goal of advancing Palworld's global presence. According to Siliconera, Palworld Entertainment will prioritize expanding the Palworld IP, including exploring licensing opportunities and creating merchandise to be sold through Aniplex's store. Following its release at the start of the year, Palworld achieved significant success, selling six million copies within four days and becoming the most successful third-party launch on Xbox Game Pass. By the end of February, the game had attracted 25 million players. The game's launch also sparked discussions among legal experts regarding the Palworld vs Pokémon debate and potential IP rights infringements.
