Xbox Game Pass Introduces New Pricing and Tier System

Microsoft has unveiled changes to the Xbox Game Pass subscription model, including a new Standard tier and price adjustments to existing plans. The novel Standard option, set to launch in the coming months at $14.99 per month, offers benefits like online console multiplayer but does not include titles released on the platform at launch. Additionally, Game Pass for Console will no longer be available to new subscribers. Existing subscribers will see price changes, with Game Pass Core rising from $59.99 to $74.99 annually, Game Pass Ultimate increasing from $16.99 to $19.99 monthly, and PC Game Pass going from $9.99 to $11.99 monthly, effective September 12, 2024. Notably, first-party Xbox titles announced during the 2024 Showcase, including new Doom and Gears of War releases, will still be available day-and-date on Game Pass.
