Volley Secures $55m in Series C Funding for Voice-Controlled Gaming
Volley, a pioneering developer of voice-controlled games, has successfully completed its Series C funding round, raising $55 million. Following its Series A round in 2020 and Series B round in 2022, both led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, this latest round was co-led by Microsoft's M12 Ventures and Lightspeed, with additional participation from notable investors including Causeway Media Partners, General Catalyst, Amazon Alexa Fund, and others. Founded in 2016 by Max Child and James Wilsterman, Volley is recognized as the highest-grossing AI-powered game company, creating engaging experiences for over 5 million players monthly across smart TVs and Alexa devices. By leveraging advanced technologies such as speech recognition, natural language processing, and speech synthesis, Volley aims to craft intuitive and enjoyable entertainment. According to Child, the CEO, this funding will propel the development of new, voice-controlled AI games, capitalizing on emerging voice AI technologies to introduce novel game categories and expand its customer base with the backing of Microsoft and Lightspeed.
