Last Chance to Enter the 2024 UK Best Places To Work Awards

UK-based games companies still have an opportunity to participate in the 2024 GamesIndustry.biz Best Places To Work Awards. This year's awards feature revised questions, focusing on key areas that matter most to games companies and their employees, particularly after a challenging year. In addition to the main awards, companies can also participate in special awards, which recognize excellence in specific areas, separate from the primary badge process. The awards are open to all UK-based games companies, including developers, publishers, service providers, retail, and media outlets. The deadline for submissions is August 15, and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on September 18 at the Royal Institution. The awards are based on a two-part survey system, with one survey for employers (accounting for 20% of the score) and another for employees (accounting for 80% of the score). All employer data and identifiable employee information will be deleted after the awards and reports have been processed, and non-winning businesses will not be named. Participants can receive a complimentary report featuring their overall scores, and benchmarking and advanced reports are also available for a fee. Alongside the standard Best Places badges, special awards will be presented, including: The Diversity Award, recognizing companies that proactively promote inclusion and diversity in the games industry. The CSR Award, celebrating companies that have made significant contributions to international and local charities, the local community, and the games industry. The Health & Wellbeing Award, honoring companies that prioritize their employees' physical and mental wellbeing through initiatives and benefits. The Training and Development Award, recognizing companies that offer extensive training and educational opportunities for employees. The Education Award, spotlighting companies that support the development of the next generation of video game talent. The Green Award, recognizing companies that prioritize environmental sustainability and combat climate change. The HR Hero Award, replacing the Best Boss Award, which recognizes individuals who have made a significant impact in creating a better work environment in the games industry. The UK ceremony will take place on September 18 at The Royal Institution of Great Britain, alongside the HR Summit.
