Capcom Acquires Minimum Studios as a Subsidiary

In a strategic move, Capcom has acquired a majority stake in Minimum Studios, a Taiwan-based animation production company. This studio has previously collaborated with Capcom on several notable titles, including Resident Evil Village, the Resident Evil 4 remake, and the upcoming Dragon's Dogma 2. Founded in 2018, Minimum Studios specializes in keyframe animation and motion capture technology. According to Capcom, the decision to make Minimum Studios a subsidiary is aimed at significantly enhancing the company's development capabilities and technological expertise. The publisher plans to continue pursuing strategic acquisitions to bolster its game development organization. This move follows last year's acquisition of Swordcanes, a support studio that contributed to Street Fighter 6, as well as other notable games such as Final Fantasy 16, Hi-Fi Rush, and the Monster Hunter series.
