Bethesda Montreal Initiates Unionization Process
Bethesda Game Studios' Montreal branch has taken steps to unionize with the Communications Workers of America. The union, announced through a social media post, has filed for certification with the Quebec Labour Board. The goal of the union is to create a work environment that is supportive, fosters creativity, and allows for the continued production of high-quality video games. By having a voice in decision-making, the union aims to achieve job security, increased transparency, flexibility, and fair compensation for all employees. This development follows the unionization of ZeniMax QA workers in January 2023, with a majority vote in favor. The unionization effort is also supported by Microsoft's labor neutrality agreement, which requires the company to maintain a neutral stance on unionization.
