Infogrames Acquires Surgeon Simulator Franchise from TinyBuild

Infogrames, a label under Atari, has acquired the Surgeon Simulator series from TinyBuild, expanding its portfolio beyond core IP. The move follows the relaunch of Infogrames in April, which included the acquisition of Totally Reliable Delivery Service. Surgeon Simulator, a comedic medical simulation game, has remained popular since its 2013 release, with various titles including VR and Switch versions. Infogrames plans to broaden the game's distribution, explore merchandising opportunities, and potentially develop new titles. According to Infogrames manager Geoffroy Châteauvieux, the acquisition presents a rare opportunity to own a game with timeless appeal. Infogrames, founded in 1983, has undergone significant changes, including licensing the Atari brand, facing financial difficulties, and shifting focus to the retro games market. The company has since acquired remaster and remake specialists, such as Digital Eclipse and Nightdive Studios, and acquired numerous IP catalogues.
