Midnight Society Severs Ties with Co-Founder Dr Disrespect

June 26, 2024 Update: Guy Beahm, also known as Dr Disrespect, has publicly addressed the allegations surrounding his 2020 Twitch ban, admitting to engaging in inappropriate conversations with a minor in 2017. Beahm expressed regret over the incident, stating that he should not have participated in those conversations. As a consequence of these allegations, Turtle Beach has terminated its partnership with Beahm. Previously, on June 25, 2024, Midnight Society announced that it had parted ways with Beahm due to the emergence of these allegations. The game studio stated that it had initially assumed Beahm's innocence but decided to sever ties to maintain its principles and standards. A former Twitch employee alleged that Beahm's ban was a result of messaging a minor and attempting to meet them at TwitchCon. Beahm initially denied these claims, stating that the matter had been settled with no admission of wrongdoing. However, he has now confirmed the reason behind his ban. Beahm was permanently banned from Twitch in 2020 and subsequently sued the platform, with the case being settled in 2022 without any admission of wrongdoing.
