Alberta Game Development Program Secures $1.5 Million in Funding

A Canadian accelerator for video game startups, Scaffold, has obtained an additional CAD$2 million in funding, with a significant portion coming from the federal department PrairiesCan. The department has granted CAD$1 million, while Alberta Innovates has committed CAD$750,000 and Shred Capital is providing CAD$250,000. Scaffold provides game developers with guidance, mentorship, and access to investors to enhance the gaming industry in Alberta. The program aims to increase the number of small to medium-sized game development businesses in the province. Having started its third cohort, Scaffold will utilize the funding to improve its program and host the inaugural Scaffold Game Investors Summit in Banff this October.
