Brainspark Games Secures £1.4 Million in Funding
Brainspark Games, a pioneering digital education platform, has successfully raised £1.4 million through a strategic combination of angel investments and grants from Innovate UK. The funds will be utilized to drive advancements in technology, production, and sales development, further solidifying the studio's position in the educational gaming sector. A consortium of seasoned investors, including veterans from the games and education industries, contributed £700,000, with FOV Ventures' David Haynes and Petri Rajahalme, Wahed Ventures, and The Games Angels' Nick Button-Brown taking the lead. Over the past two years, Brainspark Games has been engaged in extensive research and development, supported by seven grants from Innovate UK totaling £1.3 million. The company's founder and CEO, Reedah El-Saie, initially secured £470,000 in the early funding stages. El-Saie expressed enthusiasm about the potential of Brainspark Games to transform the learning experience for children through interactive play, bridging the gap between the virtual and real worlds. Since its inception in 2019, the studio has focused on developing mobile games that align with the UK's national curriculum, catering to children between the ages of seven and 13.
