League of Geeks Enters Dormancy Period
Developer of Armello, League of Geeks, has announced its decision to take an indefinite hiatus. In a recent blog post by co-founders Ty Carey, Trent Kusters, and Blake Mizzi, the team revealed that they will be taking an extended break due to the current economic difficulties in the gaming industry. The co-founders stated that they are uncertain about when, or if, they will revive the company, citing the challenges they face. Solium Infernum, which received critical acclaim upon its release in February, will continue to receive support in the form of bug fixes and minor updates. However, its revenue will not be sufficient to fund further development or DLC. Jumplight Odyssey, which was put on hold in December, will not resume active development but is expected to be fully released within the next year. The co-founders explained that despite their desire to complete the project, they were unable to secure the necessary investment to revive development. They aim to bring the game out of Early Access within the next 12 months, although it may not be the fully realized version they had initially planned. Armello will remain online, and the plans for the Armello board game remain unaffected as it is being handled by King of the Castle Games. The co-founders expressed their appreciation for the team's hard work and the challenging experience of making video games in recent years.
