A newly formed game development studio, led by industry expert David Polfeldt, has been launched in Barcelona. The studio, named Bespoke Pixel, is presently building its core team and has successfully raised $25 million in funding, as reported by GamesBeat. With a 17-year tenure at Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment, where he held multiple leadership roles including managing director from 2008 to 2021, Polfeldt brings extensive experience to his new venture. His prior work encompasses notable franchises such as The Division, Avatar, Far Cry 3, and Assassin's Creed Revelations. Following his departure from Massive in 2022, Polfeldt worked as a strategic advisor for PlayerUnknown and Disney before co-founding Bespoke Pixel. "The establishment of Bespoke Pixel in Barcelona demonstrates our faith in the city's thriving gaming sector and its supportive infrastructure," Polfeldt stated. "As a new entrant, we aspire to contribute a fresh perspective to Barcelona's vibrant cultural landscape." He further added: "Our goal is to develop innovative, original intellectual properties that emphasize sophisticated gameplay. We are assembling a compact, agile team focused on prototype development, leveraging the core team's vast experience to deliver exceptional gaming experiences."
