Hypersonic Laboratories Secures $7 Million in Funding for Helix Modding Platform
Hypersonic Laboratories has successfully raised $7 million in a series A funding round, led by prominent investor Play Ventures. Additional contributions came from notable investors AppWorks, WTIC, KB Investment, and Alex Ekvall, with the primary goal of advancing the development of Helix, a cutting-edge modding platform. Designed to simplify the creation of role-playing mods and servers, Helix is slated to enter a closed alpha phase later this year. Initially conceived as a web3 platform featuring an NFT marketplace, Helix has since transitioned to a web2 framework, eliminating blockchain and NFT components. Having previously secured $4 million in funding, Hypersonic Laboratories was founded in 2019 by CEO Jack 'Maker' Kim. Kim expressed his vision, stating, 'Modding and playing modded games shouldn't be complicated for the millions of enthusiasts out there. Until Helix, a professional-grade toolset and platform built by modders for modding didn't exist. Our team has collectively developed mods and frameworks with over 100 million downloads, all created in their spare time. Now, with dedicated funding, we can unlock their full potential.'
