Adaptations of John Romero's Autobiography in the Works

An adaptation of John Romero's memoir is forthcoming, with plans for both a documentary and a series. According to Deadline, the documentary will be directed by Rob McCallum, known for his work on 'Mr. Dressup: The Magic of Make-Believe'. Although a director for the series has not been announced, Naomi Harvey will serve as executive producer for both projects through Golden Possum Productions. Released in 2023, Romero's autobiography chronicles his life, from his early years to the founding of Id Software and his current role as chief creative officer of Romero Games, which he established in 2014. Romero expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating: 'After speaking with Rob and Naomi, I was confident they were the ideal team to bring 'Doom Guy' to life, given our shared backgrounds and aspirations, and I have faith in their ability to tell the story.'
