Fallout Series Sees Resurgence in US Playtime Charts for April

The popularity of the Fallout television series on Amazon Prime is having a lasting impact on the gaming industry, with Circana's latest report revealing that Fallout 4, 76, and New Vegas were among the most popular games in the US last month. According to Circana's April 2024 engagement charts, Fallout 4 ranked in the Top 10 across all three tracked platforms: PlayStation 5 at No.8, Xbox Series X|S at No.6, and Steam at No.4. Furthermore, Fallout 76 secured the No.5 spot on Steam and No.10 on Xbox, while Fallout: New Vegas, developed by Obsidian, appeared at No.8 in the Steam rankings based on monthly active users. The resurgence of these games is attributed to the success of the Amazon Prime television series, which has led to a surge in sales of Bethesda's post-apocalyptic RPGs in the US, UK, and Europe. In fact, Fallout 4 was the fifth best-selling game in the US for April 2024, followed by Fallout 76 at No.8. Meanwhile, the fantasy shooter Immortals of Aveum saw a significant boost, jumping over 280 places in the PS5 rankings after being included in the monthly PlayStation Plus games. The only new entry in the most-played charts was Landfall Games' Content Warning, which debuted at No.3 on Steam due to a slow month for major game launches. The top spots were predictable, with Call of Duty leading on PlayStation, Fortnite on Xbox, and Helldivers 2 marking its third consecutive month at the top on Steam.
