Activision Secures Victory in Lawsuit Against EngineOwning

A court ruling has been made in favor of Activision in its lawsuit against EngineOwning, a company known for creating and selling cheating software. According to a report by VentureBeat, the court has ordered EngineOwning to pay $14.4 million in damages, along with an additional $292,912 to cover Activision's legal fees, as decided by the United States District Court of the Central District of California. The court's decision also includes an injunction against the Germany-based website and mandates the transfer of the domain name to Activision. EngineOwning is known to provide cheats for various popular games, including Call of Duty, Counter-Strike, Battlefield, and Titanfall. The lawsuit, initially filed in January 2022, centered around Activision's claim that the cheats provided by EngineOwning resulted in significant harm to their reputation and substantial financial losses.
