Embracer Deputy CEO and CFO Johan Ekström to Depart

Embracer is experiencing a significant shift in leadership as Johan Ekström, the company's deputy CEO and chief financial officer, announces his departure. Ekström will remain with the company until March 31, 2025, to facilitate a seamless transition of his responsibilities, which he will begin handing over prior to his departure. Having joined the company in 2019, Ekström's decision to leave is driven by personal reasons. As of June 1, Phil Rogers will assume the role of deputy CEO of Embracer Group, in addition to his current responsibilities as CEO of Crystal Dynamics and leader of the 'Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends' division. On September 1, Müge Bouillon, the current deputy CFO, will take on Ekström's financial responsibilities as the new CFO. Following these changes, Ekström will focus on the company's division into three separate entities for the remainder of his tenure. This division has also led to the addition of other key members to the executive management team, including Rogers and Coffee Stain CEO Anton Westbergh. CEO Lars Wingefors expressed his gratitude to Ekström for his substantial contributions to Embracer's development and strategy implementation since 2016, as well as his role in achieving the targets set in the recent restructuring program. Wingefors also welcomed Müge Bouillon as the new permanent CFO, highlighting her international experience and crucial role in the company's restructuring and separation process. Furthermore, he expressed his enthusiasm for Phil Rogers' new role as deputy CEO, citing the significance of these leadership changes during a critical period for the company.
