Devcom 2024 Unveils Initial Lineup of 50 Speakers
The Devcom Developer Conference organizers have announced the first batch of speakers for this year's event, set to take place in Cologne this August. A total of 50 speakers have been confirmed so far, featuring industry experts from renowned studios such as Insomniac Games, BioWare, Avalanche Studios, Hangar 13, Warner Bros Games, and Don't Nod. The initial lineup includes Kelsey Beachum, known for their work on Outer Wilds, who will deliver the opening keynote. Other notable speakers include Fleur Marty, executive producer at Fang & Claw, who will discuss the importance of 'closers' in completing large development projects, and Vladimir Lopatin, senior technical artist at Guerrilla Games, who will share techniques for creating realistic ocean waves in open-world games. Additional speakers include Martin Cao, CEO of Nimble Giant, who will provide insights on staying relevant in the industry, and Lucie Prunier, executive technical producer at Don't Nod, who will highlight the benefits of cross-project technical production teams. The conference has seen a significant increase in speaker and session submissions, with a 50% rise in applications compared to the same time last year. Devcom 2024 will run from August 18 to 20, 2024, at the new Confex venue in Cologne, with tickets now available and early bird discounts valid until May 31, 2024.
