Microsoft Announces AI Integration in Gaming

Microsoft has announced plans to incorporate its artificial intelligence technology into video games, starting with Minecraft. The integration was demonstrated during the Microsoft Surface and Windows AI event, where the AI-powered Copilot program was showcased as an in-game guide, providing players with instructions and recommendations. The Copilot program, launched in 2023, is an AI chatbot designed to assist users. Although the rollout timeline for this feature in Minecraft and other games is uncertain, Microsoft's CEO, Satya Nadella, has expressed the company's intention to integrate AI into all its products. The impact of AI on gaming was also discussed by Xbox's Haiyan Zhang at the DICE conference in February.
