Keywords Studios in Advanced Talks with Private Equity Firm EQT Over Potential Acquisition

Keywords Studios has entered into advanced discussions with EQT, a private equity firm, regarding a potential buyout. According to reports from the Financial Times, the proposed acquisition is expected to be worth £2.2 billion, with EQT offering £25.5 per share in cash. Keywords Studios initially received four unsolicited proposals from EQT, all of which were rejected. However, the current offer represents a significant increase and has been deemed worthy of consideration by the company's board, which would recommend it to shareholders if accepted. Shareholders have been advised against taking any action at this time. EQT has until June 15 to formalize its offer. The board of Keywords Studios remains confident in the company's growth strategy, which involves expanding its global platform through organic growth and acquisitions, and has received support from EQT. With over 70 facilities worldwide, Keywords Studios provides an array of services, including QA, localization, art, audio, marketing, and game development, and has made several notable acquisitions in recent years, including the purchase of The Multiplayer Guys from Improbable for £76.5 million.
