Nintendo Emerges Unscathed as Two Joy-Con Lawsuits Are Dropped

A pair of lawsuits alleging that Nintendo knowingly sold faulty Joy-Con controllers for the Nintendo Switch have been dismissed. According to Game File, the cases in question were Diaz vs. Nintendo, which was filed in 2019, and Carbajal vs. Nintendo, which was initiated in 2020. Both Nintendo and the parents who brought the lawsuits on behalf of their children requested that the cases be dismissed. These dismissals are the latest in a series of similar cases related to Joy-Con drift that have been dropped over the years. In 2019, Nintendo began offering free repairs for the affected controllers while facing another lawsuit from earlier that year. The following year, the company apologized for the drifting issue, as reported by VGC.
