Unity Announces Departure of Marc Whitten
Marc Whitten, Unity's chief product and technology officer, is set to step down from his position on June 1 and will officially leave the company by the end of 2024. According to an 8K filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Whitten will transition into a strategic advisor role for Unity from June 1 until the end of the year. The reasons behind his resignation have not been disclosed. Whitten initially joined Unity in 2021, bringing experience from his previous roles at Amazon, where he served as vice president of Entertainment Devices and Services, and at Xbox, where he was chief product officer before joining audio technology firm Sonos in 2014. His departure closely follows the recent appointment of Matthew Bromberg as Unity's new CEO, who will take over from interim CEO Jim Whitehurst on May 15, with Whitehurst moving into the position of executive chair of Unity's board.
