Steel City Interactive Secures £15m in Funding Round
Sheffield-based Steel City Interactive has successfully raised over £15 million in a recent funding round, with Novator Ventures at the helm. The investment will be utilized to support the full-scale release of its boxing game, Undisputed, which is currently available in early access. Additional participants in the funding round included London Venture Partners, as well as boxing industry experts Egis Klimas and Jose de la Cruz, who have also come on board as advisors to the studio. Steel City Interactive's founder and CEO, Ash Habib, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I am thrilled to have such a strong team of investors backing us. They share our vision of reviving boxing in the world of video games and delivering an authentic, high-quality gaming experience that does justice to the sport." Thor Björgólfsson, chairman and founder of Novator, added, "It's impressive to see a dedicated indie studio taking on the challenge of bringing boxing back to the forefront of video gaming, and we're excited to partner with Steel City Interactive to support the launch of Undisputed." Founded in 2020 by Ash Habib, Asif Habib, and Asad Habib, Steel City Interactive relocated to Sheffield in 2024 following a significant expansion of its team.
