CI Games Completes Restructuring with Final Round of Layoffs Affecting 30 Employees

CI Games has initiated a final phase of layoffs as part of its ongoing restructuring efforts, which commenced in January. According to a statement provided to GamesIndustry.biz, this last round of redundancies will impact approximately 30 individuals within the company's production teams, aiming to optimize efficiency in achieving strategic objectives. The company clarified that Hexworks, the studio behind Lords of the Fallen, has not been affected and continues to work on 'Project 3', a new action-RPG. Underdog Studio, CI Games' second internal developer, has been granted additional time to complete the vertical slice for 'Project Survive' before the game enters full production. A CI Games spokesperson stated that all affected employees have been notified and will receive comprehensive support throughout the process over the coming weeks. This development follows the company's January announcement of a 10% workforce reduction. Last month, CI Games reported a record revenue of over $60 million for 2023, largely attributed to the success of Lords of the Fallen.
