Capcom Achieves Seventh Consecutive Year of Record Profits

Capcom has announced its financial results, marking a seventh year of record-breaking profits, driven primarily by the success of its digital content business. The Japanese publisher reported record net sales of ¥152.4 billion ($978 million), a 21% increase from the previous year, with notable releases including Street Fighter 6 and Dragon's Dogma 2. Key financial highlights for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, include net sales of ¥152.4 billion ($978 million) and net income of ¥43.3 billion ($278 million), representing an 18% increase. Street Fighter 6 emerged as the company's best-selling title, with 3.3 million units sold, significantly contributing to the firm's overall performance. Additionally, Dragon's Dogma 2 sold over 2.6 million units, boosting the sales of its predecessor, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. Other notable performers include Monster Hunter: World, which reached cumulative sales of 25.3 million copies, and Resident Evil 4, which achieved 7 million units sold. The company's catalogue title sales reached nearly 40 million units, surpassing the 29.3 million units sold in the previous fiscal year. Capcom's digital content segment reported net sales of ¥119.8 billion ($769 million), a 22% year-over-year increase. The company's esports business also experienced significant growth, thanks to the success of Street Fighter 6, with its Capcom Pro Tour 2023 offering a record-breaking prize pool of over $2 million. Looking ahead, Capcom has projected an 8% increase in net sales to ¥165 billion ($1.06 billion) and a 6% increase in net income to ¥46 billion ($295 million) for the next fiscal year, supported by new IP launches, including Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, and the re-release of titles such as Monster Hunter Stories on additional platforms.
