London Games Festival 2024 Draws Massive Crowd of Over 100,000 Attendees

The ninth edition of the London Games Festival welcomed a staggering attendance of over 100,000 people. Held from April 9 to April 25, the event witnessed participation from more than 4,100 gaming professionals, according to the organisers. Furthermore, 900 gaming companies from 41 countries were involved. The organisers estimated that the event generated approximately £30 million for the participating companies through publishing deals, investments, sales, and other transactions. The London Games Festival comprised 37 events and is set to return in 2025, taking place from April 2 to April 13. Michael French, Head of Games London and Director of the London Games Festival, stated: "The festival is not only a well-attended celebration across the city, but also provides tangible value to the community in terms of connections, game sales, and publishing deals – as evident from our highest recorded business impact pipeline, valued at over £30 million. "Given the current cultural significance of games and the challenges faced by the industry, it is more crucial than ever to create a platform where fans can enjoy new games and professionals can establish meaningful business connections, all while supporting businesses in remaining competitive and sustainable." As part of the London Games Festival, the Ensemble exhibition showcased the work of underrepresented games professionals in the UK. The 2024 cohort featured eight individuals, including Rafif Kalantan, who shared her mission to champion developers from the MENA and SWANA regions.
