Krafton Reports 24% Surge in Q1 Sales
Krafton's Q1 financial report reveals a significant increase in consumer spending, totaling $488 million. Key highlights from the report include: Sales of $488 million (666 billion KRW), representing a 24% year-over-year increase. Operating profit of $227 million (310.5 billion KRW), up 10% from the previous year. Net profit of $255 million (348.6 billion KRW), marking a 30% year-over-year growth. Revenue breakdown: PC/Console generated $187 million (255.2 billion KRW), while mobile contributed $295 million (402.3 billion KRW) and other segments accounted for $6.1 million (8.4 billion KRW). The report attributes the success of PC/console PUBG: Battlegrounds to the popularity of the Rondo map update and the introduction of progressive weapon skins, resulting in the highest monthly active users and sales since the game's transition to free-to-play in 2022. To sustain growth, Krafton is investing in IP franchises and developing new content. The company also conducted a beta test for Dark and Darker Mobile, attracting over 50,000 users in Korea, with plans for a global launch in the second half of 2024.
