Paladin Studios Closes Its Doors After Nearly Two Decades
Following a nearly 19-year run, Paladin Studios, a prominent developer of mobile and indie games, has announced its shutdown. According to the studio, the primary factor behind this decision was its inability to acquire enough projects to sustain its operations. In a statement, the company expressed that it had reached a critical juncture where its financial stability was at risk due to a lack of sufficient work. "Reaching this point, we realized that proceeding under current circumstances would be financially irresponsible and could have led to insolvency. To avoid this, we have made the responsible decision to initiate a proper shutdown process, ensuring all employees receive adequate severance packages and the studio remains debt-free," the statement read. Established in 2005 and based in The Hague, Netherlands, Paladin Studios had developed several notable games, including Amazing Katamari Damacy, My Tamagotchi Forever, and Galaga Wars. At the time of closure, the studio had 45 employees and has assured that it will continue to provide technical support for its existing library of games.
