Capcom Upgrades Earnings Outlook Following Strong Dragon's Dogma 2 Sales

Capcom has revised its earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, citing a significant boost from its digital content business. The revised forecast now stands at ¥152.4 billion ($971 million), representing a 9% increase from the initial estimate of ¥140 billion ($892 million). The upward revision is primarily attributed to the impressive sales of Dragon's Dogma 2, which sold 2.5 million units worldwide within a week of its release, despite launching with only ten days left in the fiscal year. Additionally, the performance of Street Fighter 6 and steady sales of catalog titles from popular series have contributed to the forecast upgrade. According to Capcom, 'the favorable sales of these titles have led us to expect earnings for this business to exceed our plan.' The company is scheduled to release its full-year financial results on May 9.
