Blizzard Announces BlizzCon Hiatus for 2024

Blizzard has revealed that BlizzCon will be taking a break in 2024, following a thorough review over the past year. In a recent blog post, the company stated, "We've made the decision not to host BlizzCon this year, a choice that wasn't taken lightly, as this event holds great significance for us and our fans." Despite exploring alternative event formats, Blizzard remains committed to bringing back BlizzCon in subsequent years. After a hiatus from 2020 to 2022, the event returned last November with an in-person gathering at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. Although there won't be a dedicated BlizzCon this year, the company intends to utilize other events, such as Gamescom, to showcase its upcoming lineup, including World of Warcraft: The War Within and the inaugural expansion for Diablo 5, Vessel of Hatred. Moreover, Blizzard is organizing a series of global in-person events to commemorate Warcraft's 30th anniversary, aiming to capture the spirit of the Blizzard community through these experiences and live-streamed industry events.
