Flaming Fowl Studios, Developer of Gloomhaven, Undergoes Significant Staff Reduction

Flaming Fowl Studios, the development team behind Gloomhaven, has confirmed a substantial reduction in staff and announced that work on its latest project, Ironmarked, has been suspended due to financial constraints. In a recent update on Steam, the studio revealed a demo for Ironmarked, while also disclosing that production has been halted. According to an interview with VGC, Flaming Fowl's CEO, Craig Oman, stated that the studio had to downsize its team from approximately 30 members to just nine, citing a year of self-funding after their publisher withdrew support last June. The studio has been seeking new funding opportunities since then but has yet to secure a commitment from publishers. By releasing Ironmarked's demo, Flaming Fowl aims to showcase the team's exceptional work and facilitate their transition to new roles. The studio hopes that generating sufficient interest on Steam may lead to future funding for Ironmarked, but in the meantime, they will focus on developing a smaller, self-funded project.
