Void Interactive, Developer of Ready or Not, Confirms Cyber Attack with Limited Data Exposure
Void Interactive, the studio behind the tactical shooter Ready or Not, has acknowledged a recent hacking incident. Initially reported by Insider Gaming, the breach allegedly involved the theft of over 4TB of data, including the game's complete source code. However, in a statement provided to Kotaku, the company clarified that the breach was less severe than initially reported, with all player data remaining secure. According to Void Interactive, the hackers obtained screenshots of high-level project and company information, but this did not result in the leakage of sensitive data. A spokesperson for the company stated, 'We can confirm that no user-related data or staff information was compromised during this incident. The security and privacy of our users and contributors remain our top priority.' The studio also confirmed that some source code and directory information were stolen, but its development assets and proprietary code were not affected. Void Interactive attributed the hack to critical vulnerabilities in TeamCity's cloud services, which were used to manage the game's builds. The studio's investigation is ongoing, but the attack appears to have been limited to the TeamCity services interface.
