Twitch Viewership Sees 2% Uptick in March

As reported by StreamElements and Rainmaker.gg in their State of the Stream report, Twitch experienced a 2% growth in viewership during March, totaling 1.8 billion hours watched. This marks an increase from the 1.56 billion hours watched in the same month the previous year. However, daily viewing hours dipped to 57.3 million, continuing a decline observed since the previous month. The top games on Twitch for the month included Grand Theft Auto 5, League of Legends, and Valorant. The ranking of the most-watched games is as follows: Grand Theft Auto 5 with 149 million hours, League of Legends with 112 million hours, Valorant with 98 million hours, CS: GO with 88 million hours, Fortnite with 50 million hours, DOTA 2 with 47 million hours, Apex Legends with 30 million hours, Call of Duty Warzone with 29 million hours, and Overwatch 2 with 28 million hours. Notably, Counter-Strike saw a significant 53% increase in viewership due to the PGL CS2 Major tournament. According to StreamElements co-founder Or Perry, 'The trends on Twitch this month were largely predictable, given the usual drop in daily viewing hours in March, and the familiar lineup of top games and streamers. However, one standout was the remarkable rise of Supermarket Simulator, which climbed to the 17th spot thanks to its promotion by top streamers, highlighting the influence of popular streamers on game popularity.'
