EA Play Subscription Price Hike Announced

Electronic Arts has confirmed plans to raise the subscription fees for its EA Play service, as reported by GamesIndustry.biz. The monthly cost of the standard EA Play tier will increase from $4.99/£3.99 to $5.99/£5.99, while the annual fee will rise from $29.99/£19.99 to $39.99/£35.99. The EA Play Pro subscription, which offers additional in-game benefits and immediate access to newly released games, will see its monthly fee climb from $14.99/£14.99 to $16.99/£16.99, with the annual membership cost rising from $99.99/£89.99 to $119.99/£109.99. Subscribers are being notified of the changes via email, with the new pricing scheduled to take effect on May 10, 2024. The decision to increase prices is reportedly driven by fluctuations in currency value and the need to align fees with current market rates. This move follows similar price hikes by other major entertainment companies, including Sony, Disney, and Netflix, which have all adjusted their subscription fees in recent months.
