Singularity 6 Cuts Staff by 35% in Strategic Restructuring

Following the successful release of Palia on Steam, Singularity 6 has undergone a significant restructuring, resulting in the reduction of approximately 35% of its workforce. According to a statement provided to Polygon, this decision was made after a thorough assessment of the necessary support for the game. The studio expressed that the choice to downsize was a difficult one, stating, "We made the tough decision to reduce our workforce, affecting around 35% of our skilled and dedicated team members. We appreciate their contributions and are dedicated to providing support throughout this transition, including severance packages, career guidance, and assistance with job placement, as well as allowing them to retain company-provided development equipment." This move comes after careful evaluation of the studio's development and business requirements to ensure the long-term success of Palia and its community. Founded in 2018 by Aidan Karabaich and Anthony Leung, veterans of Riot Games, Singularity 6 is based in Los Angeles. In 2021, the studio secured $30 million in funding to drive the development of Palia, which launched in August 2023 and has since attracted over three million players.
