Midas Games Secures $1 Million Investment
Midas Games, a mobile game development studio, has raised $1 million in a pre-seed funding round, with Ludas Ventures taking the lead. According to a report by Pocket Gamer, the investment will facilitate the development and release of the studio's inaugural titles in the latter half of 2024. CEO Selçuk Korateş emphasized the studio's commitment to delivering exceptional gaming experiences that reward players for their skill, strategy, and perseverance. Korateş also expressed gratitude towards Ludas for its support, stating that the partnership enables the studio to focus on game development while gaining momentum in the industry. Ludas partner Mehmet Ayan praised Midas Games as a key factor in the Turkish gaming industry's growing international presence, highlighting the studio's dynamic team and experienced leadership. The studio was co-founded in February by a team of industry veterans, including COO Hikmet Duran, CTO Fatih Karadeniz, art director Mert Ulutaş, lead game developer Emre Öztürk, and head of legal İlkim Ülgen. Notably, Korateş previously held a senior position at Rollic, while Karadeniz co-founded Ruckcat Games and established IT consulting firm Roket Works. Duran, Ulutaş, and Öztürk have also worked together at Gigantic Games and now form part of Midas Games' development team.
