Atari Secures Publishing Rights for RollerCoaster Tycoon 3

Atari has acquired the publishing rights to RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 from Frontier Developments. The deal was finalized at $7 million, with $4 million paid upfront and $3 million to be paid at a later date. This acquisition makes Atari the sole publisher of all major games in the RollerCoaster Tycoon series. Originally released in 2004, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 was developed by Frontier in partnership with Chris Sawyer, the founder of the franchise. According to Atari CEO Wade Rosen, "As we mark the 25th anniversary of RollerCoaster Tycoon with Chris Sawyer, we are thrilled to bring this key title under the same umbrella as the rest of the series."
