GDC 2024 Attendance Reaches Nearly 30,000

The 2024 Game Developers Conference welcomed approximately 30,000 attendees, according to its organizers. This number surpasses the 28,000 visitors from the previous year at San Francisco's Moscone Center. GDC 2024 boasted an impressive lineup of over 1,000 speakers, 325 exhibitors, and more than 730 workshops and roundtable discussions. "The primary goal of GDC is to provide a platform for developers to connect, network, and gain knowledge," stated Stephanie Hawkins, GDC event director. "It was rewarding to see both aspiring and experienced game developers come together to share their expertise and visions for creating exceptional games in the future." The conference featured two awards ceremonies, including the 24th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards, where Baldur's Gate 3 received the most awards, including the prestigious Game of the Year award. The 26th Annual Independent Game Awards honored Visai Games' Venba with the Seumas McNally Grand Prize for Best Independent Game. GDC 2025 is slated to take place from March 17 to March 21, 2025, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. For comprehensive coverage of GDC 2024, visit GamesIndustry.biz.
