Crop Circle Games Closes Down by Prytania Media
Prytania Media has officially shut down its Crop Circle Games studio. According to a report by GameDeveloper, the parent company informed staff about the closure. Luna Jade, the operations manager at Crop Circle, expressed her disappointment on social media, stating that Prytania Media waited until after the Game Developers Conference to notify furloughed employees about the studio's closure and their subsequent termination. A message on the studio's website explains that Crop Circle Games was unable to secure funding to continue development due to shifting consumer preferences and economic instability caused by the pandemic. This news follows a series of layoffs at Crop Circle Games in February. With its closure, the game developer ceases operations nearly two years after its establishment. The studio was first introduced to the public in October 2022, with the ambitious goal of creating a narrative-driven sandbox game for a global audience.
