HTC's Viveport Store Now Offers Developers a 90% Revenue Share

HTC has introduced a revised revenue-sharing model for its Viveport storefront, which specializes in XR gaming and applications. Starting April 1st, creators of new content will receive 90% of the revenue generated from one-time purchases of PCVR and Vive XR Elite titles, as well as apps. This updated revenue split will also be applied retroactively to existing titles, beginning March 1, according to the company. Joseph Lin, general manager of Viveport, emphasized the importance of developers in the XR ecosystem, stating, 'When developers flourish, the entire industry prospers.' Lin explained that the new 90% revenue share for app and game purchases on the Viveport store aims to accelerate developer growth by providing them with more resources. By doing so, Viveport is positioning itself as a driving force behind the growth of the XR community.
