Sony Halts Production of PSVR 2 to Address Excess Inventory
According to sources, Sony Interactive Entertainment has temporarily stopped producing the PSVR 2 to work through its existing stockpile of unsold units. This news comes from a report by Bloomberg, citing insiders with knowledge of the situation. It's stated that Sony has produced over 2 million PSVR 2 headsets. The report also references data from IDC, indicating that sales have decreased each quarter following the device's launch in February 2023. Initially, the headset saw the sale of 600,000 units by May 2023. More recently, Sony revealed plans to expand the device's compatibility to include PC support.
