Allegations Surface That Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection Incorporated Modder's Work Without Attribution

A modder has alleged that Aspyr incorporated their work into Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection without providing proper credit. According to a report by IGN, players discovered that a mod created by 'iamashaymin' was seemingly included in the game, despite the developer's assertion last month that it did not contain any uncredited content. The mod in question was designed to make Xbox-exclusive DLC characters Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress available on PC in 2021 by reskinning existing characters. The modder shared footage on social media, captured from the PlayStation 5 version, which appeared to show their mod being featured before it was allegedly removed in a patch. Notably, this mod was also showcased in the game's announcement trailer last year, an inclusion Aspyr attributed to a mistake. The company stated, 'During the process of capturing placeholder footage, we inadvertently included content not intended for the final product, and this mistake was not caught before the final cut.' GamesIndustry.biz has contacted Aspyr for further clarification on the matter.
